Recipe Introduction
This is the way to make some great lutefisk! Yum, Yum.
No kidding if you have only heard the jokes about Lutefisk you owe it to yourself to try some that's done the right way. Go to a Church or Lodge Lutefisk Supper, and give it a try, you'll most likely like it once you get past the bad jokes you've heard all your life. But then Lutefisk eaters love to tell Lutefisk Jokes too, so you're bound to hear some good ones at the supper. There just aren't too many foods that people love telling jokes about.
List of Ingredients
One nice size fillet of Lutefisk. Remeber a Fillet of Lutefisk has bones, so I would suggest to avoid the tail portion of the fish. Lutefisk is Cod Fish that has been Luted.
A little Salt.
And Melted Butter for when you serve it. Recipe
Rinse and drain fish well. Cut into serving pieces.
(Really rinse and drain it well.)
Place fish one layer deep, skin side down, on a piece of heavy foil large enough to completely cover fish.
Sprinkle with salt and fold edges of foil together to make a complete seal.
Place in a large shallow baking pan.
Bake in a slow oven (325°) for 35 to 50 minutes or until Fish flakes easily.
serve with melted butter or creamy white sauce.
