Green Pepper Swiss Steak

2 lbs. round steak
Shortening for browning
1 cup chopped green pepper
½ cup chopped onion
Salt and pepper to taste 2 cups
tomato sauce
Brown steak in a large skillet using a small amount of shortening.
Add green pepper and onion and season with salt and pepper. Pour enoughsauce over steak to cover it.
Reduce heat to simmer, cover container, and cook slowly for 1 hour. 8 servings.
