List of Ingredients
3-2/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 cups butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 3-ounce package flavored gelatin (any flavor)
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Flavored gelatin or colored sugar
Recipe
1. In a medium bowl, stir together flour and baking powder; set aside.
2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, the granulated sugar and the package of flavored gelatin with an electric mixer on medium to high speed until well combined. Add the egg and vanilla; beat well. Gradually add flour mixture, beating until smooth after each addition.
3. Force unchilled dough through a cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with additional flavored gelatin or colored sugar.
4. Bake in a 400 degree F. oven for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges of cookies are firm and barely brown. Cool cookies on a wire rack. Store in a loosely covered container. Makes about 48 cookies.
Note: If you'd like a two-toned dough, stir half of a package of red gelatin into one half of the dough and half of a package of green gelatin into the other half of the dough. Use some of the remaining gelatin to sprinkle on top of the cookies before baking.
