Green Beans Even the Kids Will Like

    Source of Recipe

    Old family favorite ~ Somersized

    Recipe Introduction

Level 1 ~ Pro/Fats & Veggies ~ The original version of this recipe calls for finely crushed Italian seasoned bread crumbs, which I now substitute with Parmesan cheese with seasonings added.

    List of Ingredients

1 can (16 oz) cut green beans - drained
1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chiles (like RoTel) - mild
    1/2 tablespoon butter
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    2 cloves garlic - minced
    1/4 cup diced onions
    Salt and pepper to taste

4 tablespoons parmesan cheese (grated, dry/powdery) *add this at the end, not during cooking*

    Recipe

Heat butter and oil over medium heat. Saute garlic and onion until transparent. Add green beans and saute. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper, simmer 15-60 minutes. Just before serving, sprinkle on cheese to taste.

    * Deb’s notes: I like to double this using 2 (16 oz) bags of frozen, cut green beans. I use one can of RoTel and one can of diced tomatoes. I don’t double the parmesan cheese, that’s too much for our taste.
