    Million Dollar Pie Crust

    Source of Recipe

    unknown

    Recipe Introduction

I find piecrusts very difficult to make so I have tried many recipes throughout the years. Finally I discovered this recipe somewhere and it seems to work very nicely. I hope it will perform beautifully for you too.

    List of Ingredients

    2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    2/3 cup shortening
1/4 cup chilled butter cut into pieces
6 to 7 tablespoons of ice water
Use pastry blender and continue as with any piecrust using a tablespoon of water at a time until dry ingredients are moist and dough clumps together to form a ball. Wrap ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight. Let dough stand out to room temperature and roll into piecrusts. Another neat trick is to put the ball of dough into a gallon plastic bag and use the rolling pin to roll out the dough, then you can cut the bag open on top and flip it over onto the pie dish and remove the bag.
