Pork Chops, Italian style
8 pork chops, 1/2 inch thick
1, 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 cup dry red wine
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon oregano, crumbled
1 green pepper, cut in strips
1, 3 ounce can sliced mushrooms, drained
1, 6 ounce package low-moisture part-skim mozzarella
cheese slices, cut in half
Brown each pork chop on both sides in large skillet; drain.
Combine tomato sauce, wine, garlic, & seasonings.
Pour over meat.
Add green pepper and mushrooms.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Top each chop with cheese slice;cover until melted.
Serves 8.
