    Hungarian Stuffed Cabbage

    Source of Recipe

    Me

    List of Ingredients

    3 Lb 80/20 Ground Beef

1-Lb Ground Pork ( I use Kroger Country Pork)

    1 T Garlic Powder

    1 t Pepper

    1/3 T. Lawrey's Season Salt

    2 C. Washed Rice

    4 T Bacon Grease

2 Chopped Onions chopped small ( No big hunks)

    1 Egg, Beaten lightly
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5 Small Cans sauerkraut or 3 Big Cans,( depends on how much kraut you want.

    Tomato Juice

    2-3 Cans Tomato Soup.

    Water, if needed

Cabbages- You need about 25 leaves. This recipe makes about 25 leaves with a fistful of meat inside. If you run out of leaves, just make balls of meat and throw on top of rolled cabbages

    Recipe

Melt Bacon Grease on Medium/Low and Saute Onions until soft. Cool

Mix together, Beef, Pork, Garlic, Pepper, Season Salt, Rice, Egg, and cooled onions. Put in fridge if your cabbage leaves aren't ready.

Cabbage- Cut deeply around the core. You can either removed the leaves by sticking a fork in the core and then submerged in boiling water, and take leaves off OR put a few inches of water in a large bowl and add cabbage and microwave it for a few minutes. Leaves will come off easily. Repeat until you get down to the tiny leaves.
